The Apollo X series also introduces new Dual-Crystal clocking - featuring dedicated crystals for 44.1/88.2/176.4k and 48/96/192k sample rates - resulting in stunningly low jitter, measured at less than 10 picoseconds. To improve on the previous generation Apollo interfaces’ class-leading audio conversion, UA engineers obsessively auditioned the latest A/D and D/A converters - ultimately pairing elite-class 24-bit/192 kHz converters with all-new analog circuitry for an ultra-pristine signal path. With thousands of hit songs and hundreds of Grammy-winning albums under their belt, Apollo interfaces are no strangers to tracking stellar-sounding records. I would recommend it to anyone who wants not only an emulation of LA2A but a great-sounding compressor.Elite Audio Conversion with Eight Unison Mic Preamps, HEXA Core Processing, and Surround Sound.Īpollo x8p allows music engineers, producers, and project studios to track, overdub, and mix with elite-class A/D and D/A conversion, HEXA Core UAD plug-in processing, Dual-Crystal clocking, and 7.1 surround sound monitoring - all in a sleek rackmount Thunderbolt 3 audio interface for Mac or Windows.īuilt upon UA’s 60-year heritage of audio craftsmanship, this 18 x 22 interface laps the competition with eight Unison™-enabled mic preamps, all-new HEXA Core processing - yielding 50% more DSP for running UAD Powered Plug-Ins in real time - plus it includes LUNA Recording System, giving you a fully‑integrated music production application. There's something special that other LA2A emulations are missing. The description of the characteristics of the three plug-ins in the Manual is very useful and makes it easier to choose the right model for the instrument. I've never worked with the original hardware unit but there's something special about this plugin that I've always missed when working ITB. Something I have not experienced with any other emulation of this equipment. Suddenly the piano sounded "like a record" and not like a sample library anymore. I immediately liked LA2A when I tried it on synthesizers, but the real magic was when I put it on a piano (sample library).

After many years of listening to very positive opinions, I could finally see if the LA2A is really that good and if it can beat the current competition.

I got the LA-2A quite recently in the native version.
